What file types can I import?

URLs, photos (JPG, PNG, HEIC), PDFs, Word docs, or just paste plain text. If you can read it, Cookt can too. Even those blurry screenshots work surprisingly well.

Are my recipes private?

Yes, always. Your recipes are only visible to you unless you explicitly share them. We take your grandmother's secret recipes as seriously as you do.

Can I edit what the AI generates?

Absolutely. The AI gives you a great starting point, but you're always in control. Edit anything, anytime. It's your recipe collection.

Does Cookt replace my recipe images?

We generate a beautiful dish photo automatically so your collection looks cohesive. But you can upload your own photos anytime — your gorgeous food pics deserve to shine.

Can I switch between metric and imperial?

Yes! Every recipe has a one-tap toggle. For baking ingredients like flour and sugar, Cookt converts volume to weight (e.g., 1 cup flour = 120g) instead of just converting to milliliters — because your kitchen scale doesn't lie. Your preferred unit system saves globally across all recipes.

What happens to ingredients when I import a recipe?

Cookt's AI parses every ingredient into structured data — amount, unit, and food. These link to your personal food catalog automatically. Same ingredient across different recipes? Connected. Different languages? Normalized. It's all building toward smart shopping lists.

How many recipes can I save?

As many as you want — recipe storage is unlimited on every plan. AI-powered imports (from screenshots, PDFs, and URLs) are subject to monthly limits: 7 per month on Free, 50 per month on Pro. Your collection is always fully accessible regardless of your current plan.

Is Cookt really free?

Yes. The Free plan gives you 7 AI recipe imports and 30 AI chat messages every month, forever. Your recipes, storage, and organization are always unlimited. No credit card required, no time limit. When you need more AI power or upcoming premium features like shopping lists and meal planning, you can upgrade to Pro.

What happens if I hit my monthly limit?

On the Free plan, you can upgrade to Pro for more AI credits. On Pro, limits reset on your billing date each month. Either way, your existing recipes are always accessible — limits only affect new AI operations like importing recipes or chatting with Sous-chef.

Can I cancel my Pro subscription anytime?

Yes, cancel anytime from the Paddle Customer Portal — no hoops, no phone calls. Your Pro access continues until the end of your current billing period, then you revert to the Free plan. All your recipes and data stay exactly as they are.
